ReplyDeleteA real gem of a film which deserved a lot more credit than it ever received. Director Kathryn Bigelow went on to produce Aliens and direct Blue Steel and Point Blank, while writer Eric Red went on to direct the brilliant but rarely-glimpsed Coen and Tate, an equally dark movie.
ReplyDeleteNear Dark is not a widely known vampire movie, but it is a cult favorite and has a few different twists on the myth that makes it very entertaining and timeless. Bill Paxton is great in it. I would recommend this movie to everyone that has not seen it, and to everyone that has to acquire it also for your collection.
