The bridge was projected to cost $398 million.

The 6 hour, 10.5 mile Bridge to Nowhere hike in the San Gabriel Mountains is one those hikes that you have to do at least once in your life. As the name suggests, you hike along the San Gabriel River in the beautiful Sheep Mountain Wilderness for about 5 miles, and then, out of nowhere, there’s a huge, 120-foot high bridge!
The Bridge to Nowhere is definitely one of my favorite hikes in the Los Angeles area. I highly recommend hiking it at least once :) I had heard from several people that doing this hike is an absolute must in the SGV, and I'd have to agree. This hike was incredible fun, breathtaking, and a wonderful experience.
Hi I’m excited to try this hike. :) I’m a first timer and we have plans to go up there this weekend, my only concerns are the recent rainy weather and how it will effect the river crossings, how high the water may be and how wet I’ll get (up to my knees?), especially with the chiller morning air (6am, 7am ish).
